🆕Dashboard: Your data protection homepage
The Dashboard is your single pane of glass for data security insight.
In this article, you will learn more about:
Introduction: What is the Dashboard
The Dashboard greets you when you sign in and guides you toward stronger, smarter data protection. It shows the most important info about how your company's data is being used and protected and identifies areas for improvement.
The Dashboard answers key questions like:
- Is our company data safe?
- Where is sensitive data uploaded?
- Are there any security concerns I should know about?
- Which users might need additional training on data handling?
- Which unauthorized AI tools might be used in my company?
✍️The Dashboard displays data from the last 30 days to ensure you're always seeing recent activity.
Permissions
Admins will only see what they have permissions for (e.g., data from just one specific team; the entire Behavior analysis section will also be empty if they don’t have the Behavior permission).
Dashboard widgets and sections
The Dashboard is divided into several sections, each focusing on a specific area of data protection. The widgets are interactive:
- Hover your mouse over a chart to see more details.
- Click links under charts to investigate a specific issue further.
Insights (Medium and High severity)
Review issues that need your attention and identify trends.
There are two charts:
- Open insights: Check how many medium and high-severity insights haven’t been closed yet. They are grouped by the reasons why they were triggered (e.g., Blocked application, Data policy violation, Blocked website, etc.). Click Show open insights to view all open medium and high-severity insights.
- Insights over time: Analyze the trends – see how many medium and high-severity insights occurred in the last 30-days. Click Show all insights to go to the Insights section.
Data
Understand where your sensitive data is flowing.
There are two charts:
- File operations by destinations: Shows patterns in data flow.
- See how many files were sent to safe destinations versus potentially risky ones.
- See frequently used data destinations that haven’t been assigned as untrusted or safe yet. We recommend assigning these to better protect them with policies.
- Click Manage data destinations to go to the Data destinations section.
- Most used destination types by data classification: Analyze the movement of sensitive files. Examine what types of sensitive data are moved where.
-
- Hover your cursor over a graph section to see operation counts for each classification.
- Click Review file operations to see all destinations to which sensitive data went.
Behavior analysis
Identify potential insider threats and see which users might need attention because of suspicious or risky activities.
There are three tables:
- Users by data-related incidents: Top 10 users with the most data policy violations. Columns show the user’s name, number of violations, and total size of files involved. Click Show more to see all users with data-related incidents in the Data section.
- Users by suspicious activities: Shows users with the longest time spent using apps and websites categorized as suspicious.
- Top non-business activities: Review time spent on non-work-related activities.
AI exposure
See how generative AI tools are used across your company.
✍️Uploading sensitive files to untrusted AI tools may breach company policies. Consider blocking or auditing these destinations.
There is one chart and one table:
- File operations in untrusted and unassigned AI tools: Identify uploads to unauthorized AI websites. It lists the top four non-safe AI destinations (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard) with counts. Click Review file operations to see all uploads to non-safe AI websites in the Data section.
- Most used AI tools: Review which AI websites users use most often. You can seetheir URL, time spent, number of users, number of uploaded files, and data classifications of those files. Click Most used AI tools to open the Data section with the AI tools category filter applied.
FAQ
Q: Can I customize the dashboard layout?
A: No, widgets and layout are not customizable for now. In the future, rearranging or adding widgets might be possible.
Q: Can I exclude specific users from appearing on the dashboard?
A: No. Safetica aggregates data from all licensed users. To remove a user entirely, you must revoke their Safetica license, which disables all protection for them.
