Deprecation of Basic Authentication in Exchange Online

Microsoft started deprecating Basic Authentication in Exchange Online in October 2022. This affects Microsoft Exchange integration with Safetica, which requires Basic Authentication to be enabled.

In October 2022, Microsoft started disabling Basic Authentication for randomly selected tenants. To avoid disruption, tenants could submit an opt-out request using the Microsoft 365 admin center before October 1, 2022. For specific steps, see the Diagnostic Options in Microsoft's announcement.

Regardless of your opt-out status, Basic Authentication will be permanently disabled for all tenants in January 2023. A new Safetica version with reworked Office 365 integration technology is scheduled for release by the end of 2022. Let us know in case you'd like to try it before its public release.
