How to enable Application control (restrictions)

Notice: Starting in Safetica 8.3, you can choose to manage Application Control and Web Control from WebSafetica instead of Safetica Console. The new design was prepared in close cooperation with our customers and gives you better control of what rules are applied to which departments or stations. For more information please follow link WebSafetica - Websites & Applications policies

Blocking applications in Safetica is easy. To do that just follow these steps:
  1. In Console go to Supervisor > Application control
  2. In the user tree select the entity you would like to apply rules to (e.g. a user group or a computer). 
  3. Switch the first toggle (up front of the page) to Enabled.
  4. Select a Deny (recommended) or Allow list and click on Add rule button there. 
  5. Name the rule and:
    select the specific app, or
    select the whole application category.
  6. Click Next and choose the time for blocking (optional). 
  7. Save the settings by clicking on the checksign in upper right corner. 
 Wait for the moment when Safetica Client reads the new settings. Now you can try to run the application on selected computer(s).
