Information in this article applies to Safetica ONE 10 or older.

You will need the Safetica Management Console and at least one endpoint with Safetica Client.

  1. Create folder “C:\test”.
  2. Create new documents in this folder, or copy some of your existing documents. The files must be larger than 0 kb.
  3. Open Safetica Management Console.
  4. Go to Protection > DLP policies and click New policy.
  5. Enter the name and description of the new DLP policy.
  6. With the Policy type slider, select General. Click Next.
  7. Here you can select what restrictions to apply to files governed by this security policy. With the Policy mode slider, select Log and block.
  8. In Policy rules, set External devices, Screen capture, and Clipboard to Block. Feel free to edit the DLP policy later from this Policy rules screen and discover what are the options and effects of each setting.
  9. When done, click Next. Select a user or endpoint with the Add users button. Click Finish.
  10. You will see the new DLP policy in the list on the left. Click  in the upper right corner to apply the settings.

Please allow ~10 minutes for the policy to be transferred to Safetica Client before testing the policy. If you followed the guide above, you can try to copy text from the document, take a screenshot, or copy the document to an external device. All these actions will be blocked and you will receive a Safetica pop-up informing you about the restriction.
