Since version 9.3 Safetica allows you to limit the file types, which are scanned during analyzing sensitive content. This is especially useful in situations, when you want to limit the load on the endpoints stations, but you still want to keep basic detection of sensitive content.
There are two sets for scanning file types - Limited and Complete. The default setting is "Complete set".
- Limited set - only basic file types containing text data are scanned. On the endpoint station iFilter is usually installed and can be scanned by our service. These are the following file types: TXT, XML, HTML, RTF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, XLSM, ZIP, CSV, PDF. Except this set, other extensions than .txt can be evaluated. For example .py can be scanned as well, because it can be text document and iFilter for text files can process it.
- Complete set - every file with installed iFilter at the endpoint station is scanned even though it may not contain text data. Common examples of file format is DWG or DXF.
You can find content analysis service settings in Safetica Management Console -> Maintenance -> Integration settings -> Content analysis service.
