We have a browser add-on that can help resolve issues with auditing web activity and file uploads. It’s available for Safetica On-Prem and can be activated by Safetica Support on request.

What is the Browser Add-on

The Browser Add-on is a browser extension that works alongside the Safetica Client. It communicates directly with the browser to audit web activity more accurately.

 

When to use the Browser Add-on

Consider using the Browser Add-on if you experience any of the following:

  • Web pages slow down noticeably while the Safetica Client is running.
  • File uploads are recorded with the wrong destination.

 

What problems does the Browser Add-on solve

  • Better web performance: Communicates directly with web pages, which reduces slowdowns that some users experience.
  • Improved upload auditing: Correctly identifies where a file was uploaded, even when the user quickly switches tabs during the upload process.
    • The standard web detector checks which browser tab is active when a file upload occurs. This can cause a problem: If a user starts uploading a file and quickly switches to a different tab before the upload finishes, the system may record the wrong destination - it records the tab the user switched to, not the tab where the upload actually happened. The Browser Add-on fixes this by receiving information from the browser more quickly.
  • Future extensibility: Designed to support additional capabilities as they become available.

 

How to activate the Browser Add-on

The Browser Add-on can be activated by Safetica Support on request.

  2. Safetica Support will activate the Browser Add-on for your environment.
