❗This article applies only to Safetica hosted on-premises. For customers with cloud-hosted Safetica, the server is updated automatically.

Introduction: update releases

✍️Updating with a temporary URL allows on-premises customers to access the newest features without waiting for the standard release cycle (the generally available version). 

Safetica releases updates at different speeds for different hosting types:

  • Cloud-hosted Safetica:
    • Updated weekly with the latest features and improvements.
    • No action is needed – the updates are automatic.
  • On-premises – generally available versions:
    • Released approximately every 6 weeks.
    • Focused on enterprise stability.
    • Default for all on-premises installations.
  • On-premises – release preview versions:
    • Released approximately every 2 weeks.
    • For customers who want the newest features or are waiting for fixes.
    • Available via temporary URL.

 

 

When to use temporary URLs

Use temporary URLs when you want to:

  • Access new features before the next generally available version is released.
  • Update to a specific version for testing.
  • Apply fixes immediately.

 

 

How to update Safetica server using the temporary URL

  1. Go to the Update > Update options section of Safetica console.
  2. In the Use temporary URL field, enter the update URL address.

✍️The URLs can be found in Safetica Release Notes under each version.

  1. Click Update now from URL.
  2. The update will start.
