What is a problematic device
Safetica uses its own device driver for device protection, which filters all devices connected to endpoints. Some devices may not work correctly when Safetica driver filters them (these are typically security tokens or similar devices, which can be used to access sensitive systems). These devices don't necessary need to be protected by Safetica, so you can exclude them from protection.
How to create an exception for a device in Safetica Management Console
By selecting the device from the Select devices list
1. Go to Maintenance > Integration settings > Ignored devices.
2. Click Add device.
3. Click the icon in the table and choose the device you want to whitelist.
The Select devices window contains all devices which were connected to endpoints with Safetica.
4. Click Add devices.
By adding the device manually
You can also whitelist one specific device or a class of devices by using the Hardware ID or Compatible ID (for example USB\VID for all USB devices, USB\HARDLOCK for all hardware keys):
1. Go to Maintenance > Integration settings > Ignored devices.
2. Click Add device.
3. Enter the Hardware ID or Compatible ID to identify the device and the Description to name the device properly.
You can find Hardware IDs and Compatible IDs in Windows Device Manager (right click the Start button and select Device Manager).
A problematic device may display a general error code which defines the conflict between it and Windows. You can find the most common error codes here.
