Safetica Clients need to be installed on endpoints to provide the Safetica Discovery and Safetica Protection functionality.
Information in this article applies to Safetica ONE 10 or older.
There are two ways to distribute Safetica in your network:
Using Safetica Downloader Agent
This is a two-step process recommended for larger networks:
- Install Safetica Downloader Agent on the endpoints manually (via a GPO policy or ESET Protect if you are using ESET).
- Use Safetica Management Console to distribute Safetica Clients to endpoints with Safetica Downloader Agent.
Follow these steps to install Safetica clients using the Downloader Agent:
- Open Safetica Management Console and go to Maintenance – Update and Deploy.
- Click Get Downloader Agent and save the file to your Desktop.
- Run the Downloader Agent installation file (safetica_agent.msi) on all devices you want to run Safetica on.
- Confirm that all devices appear in the network tree on the left side of Safetica window.
- Back in the Update and Deploy view, click Install version ... on endpoints.
- Select a node or specific devices, and then click OK.
- Switch to Endpoint management view to track the status of the installation on the clients.
- Restart the clients to finish the installation. The clients will connect to the Safetica server, download settings and start sending data.
Using Safetica Client installation file
You can install Safetica Client onto endpoints without using Safetica Downloader Agent. This can be quicker in small networks where you can access all computers, but is less suitable for using a GPO policy due to the size of the installation package.
Follow these steps to install Safetica Client in one step:
- Run the Safetica installation file.
- Select Manual installation and component extraction, and then click Installation.
- Click 32bit or 64bit next to Safetica Endpoint Client, according to the version of Windows on the target machines (not the server).
- Click Extract installer and fill in:
Server address: the name or IP of your Safetica server
Port: leave default - Click Next and save the file to your Desktop.
- Run the Safetica Client installation file (safetica_endpoint_client_xXX.msi) on all endpoints you want to run Safetica on.
- Restart the clients to finish the installation. The clients will connect to the Safetica server, download settings and start sending data.
