Informative Alerts

This article outlines Safetica Informative Alerts and the way they work. The screenshot below shows all the available settings which will be described further.

Unlike DLP Alerts, Informative Alerts are sent once per day or week only. The alert is sent if selected threshold is exceeded. This is evaluated after every midnight, so you won’t receive the alert immediately after a user violates a rule. For all Informative Alerts, you can define different thresholds for day and week intervals – the alert is triggered if any of the limits is exceeded.

These are the alerts which you can set up:

  • File Activities – for all the five alerts related to file activities, you can insert the number of files that will trigger the alert. For alerts related to tagged files, you can also specify the data category which will be considered.
  • Network – thresholds for these alerts are defined in different units. Time spent on web categories is defined in minutes, and you can also select which web categories will be counted. You can also create an alert for the amount of received or sent emails. Lastly, you can set up an alert for the amount of downloaded or uploaded data in MB.
  • Applications – similarly to Time spent on web categories, you can also set up an alert for Time spent on application categories. You can choose the application category which will be considered.
  • Print – you can insert the number of printed documents or pages that triggers the alert.
