What happens when you downgrade from Safetica Pro to Safetica Essentials

Safetica utilizes user-based licensing to protect users who work with data. Learn what happens when you downgrade your licenses from Safetica Pro to Safetica Essentials.

After you downgrade from Safetica Pro to Safetica Essentials, you will only be able to use features from the Safetica Essentials product plan. Features exclusive to Safetica Pro will stop working. This means:

  • Blocking, override, or notification policies: All policies for data, apps, websites, and external devices will be changed to Log only.
  • OCR stops working: Detection of sensitive data in image files via OCR will be deactivated.
  • Shadow copy stops working: No shadow copies will be created for new incidents.
  • Network layer is deactivated: No email clients except Outlook will be supported.
  • Microsoft 365 protection stops working: No audit, protection, or mobile support for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive Business, Teams, or Outlook. Microsoft 365 protection will be in an error state, so you should:

✍️You will still be able to synchronize one Entra ID tenant as part of the Safetica Essentials license to get insight into your company structure.

  • Data classification history will only be stored for 6 months, not 18.
  • Safetica hosted on-premises: BitLocker encryption management will stop working. Your BitLocker-encrypted devices and drives will be decrypted.
  • Safetica hosted on-premises: Active Directory synchronization will be limited to one domain.
  • Safetica hosted on-premises: Safetica alert integration with SIEM will stop working. Safetica alerts will no longer be sent to your SIEM.
  • Safetica hosted on-premises: Integration with 3rd party analytics tools (such as Power BI or Tableau) will stop working. You will not be able to feed your 3rd party reports with new Safetica data.
  • Cloud-hosted Safetica: Data record retention in the cloud will decrease from 18 months to 6 months.
