How to set up SQL query tracing

In some cases, we need to enable SQL query tracing to check the communication between our Safetica Management Service and the database.

 

This article applies only to Safetica hosted on-premises.

Requirements

Safetica Maintenance Console
  • In Safetica ONE 10 – Named Safetica Management Console and available to administrators by default.
  • In unified Safetica – Renamed to Safetica Maintenance console. Available upon manual installation from here.

Log SQL setup:

To do this, please, proceed as follows:

  1. Go to the Safetica Server
  2. Redirect to “C:\Program Files\Safetica Management Service\Tools”
  3. Run the STActivityMonitor.exe and log in with any Safetica administrator-level account
  4. Click on [Options] > [Server configuration…]
  5. Set the value of LogSql value to ‘1’ 
  6. Click on [OK]
  7. Close the STActivityMonitor
  8. Restart the Safetica management service in Services or execute the restart.bat located in “C:\Program Files\Safetica Management Service” and launch it through CMD
  9. In Safetica Maintenance Console, Go to Profile > Settings
  10. Select Verbose logging in the ‘Other Settings’
  11. Click [Finish]
  12. Do not forget to turn off the verbose logging after completing your task
