💻Safetica On-Prem: How to update Safetica to a newer version

Learn how to update Safetica server and Safetica Clients on your devices to a newer version.

 

❗Information in this article applies only to Safetica On-Prem.

 

Updating Safetica On-Prem is a two-step process:

  1. Updating Safetica server

  2. Updating the Safetica Clients on your devices

 

 



Step 1: Safetica server update

You can update the Safetica Server to the latest version directly from the Safetica console.

When a new version is available, a notification appears in Settings.

 

In Settings > Update, you can:

  • See your current Safetica version.
  • Check whether a new version is available.
  • Read the release notes to learn about new features and changes.

To start the update, click Download and update now.

During the update, the Safetica console may be temporarily unavailable. Safetica Clients on protected devices will continue working even if the server is offline.

 

 



Step 2: Safetica Client updates

After updating the server, make sure to update the Safetica Client on your devices as well.

Devices that require a Safetica Client update are marked as Outdated in Safetica console. To see which devices need updating:

  • Go to Devices Overview tab.

  • Click Add filter > Status > Contains > Outdated.

Safetica Clients must be updated on each device. Follow these steps to complete the update.

 

 


FAQ

Q: Can I completely remove hostname access for Safetica console and reports and allow access to the server and reports only via IP address? / Can I completely remove hostname access for Safetica console? / Can I change the DNS name for Safetica console?

A: Yes, you can. Change the URL key in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Safetica Technologies\OneConsole and then update to a newer version of Safetica.
