🆕Layouts

Save views with selected filters and table settings and share them with other admins.

In this article, you will learn more about:

Introduction: What to use layouts for

Layouts allow you to easily save views with selected filters, columns, and groupings and share them with other admins. They:

  • Save your time and make working with Safetica console significantly more efficient.
  • Enable you to save different views of a section for different use cases.
  • Make sharing layouts among admins easy.
  • Predefined layouts provide use cases for educational purposes.

For now, layouts are available in all Dashboards sections (except for Insights), all Behavior sections, and in Devices.

Layout permissions

Everyone can manage their private layouts. Shared layouts, however, can only be created, modified, and deleted by admins with the Reports and shared layouts permission.

How to use layouts

A layout saves the following:

  • Users selected in the user tree
  • Date range
  • Other filters selected via the Add filter button or via widgets
  • Columns visible in the table and their order
  • Sorting and grouping of records in the table

To work with layouts, use the Select layout drop-down. You can either use one of the predefined layouts or create your own.

Predefined layouts

Predefined layouts are read-only and shared among all Safetica admins. By default, one of them is selected as your home layout (e.g., Data overview layout, Apps overview layout,...).

Custom layouts

With custom layouts, you can:

  • Add a new layout: Change applied filters or table settings. In the layout dropdown, click Add new to save the changes as a new layout. The layout can be created either as private or shared.
  • Share an existing layout: To share an existing private layout with all other Safetica admins, click Update and select Shared.

Once a layout is shared, it cannot be made private again.

  • Switch between layouts: In the layout dropdown, click the desired layout. This will change the applied filters and table settings.
  • Modify an existing layout: Select an existing layout and change applied filters or table settings. In the layout dropdown, click Update.
  • Revert changes in a layout: When you make changes but then decide to go back to your saved layout without saving these changes, click Revert.
  • Set a home layout: Click the Home icon in the layout you want to use as default. If you delete your custom home layout, a predefined layout will be used as home instead.
  • Delete a layout: Click the Trash icon in the layout you want to delete.

Deleting a shared layout can affect reports and other Safetica admins.
