Safetica 11.29.8

Security

This release resolves two high-severity security issues that are pending CVE assignment:

  • Privilege escalation vulnerability in Safetica Client for Windows (on-premises only)
  • Denial-of-service vulnerability in Safetica Client

Both vulnerabilities require local system access to exploit. When the system is protected by an EDR solution, exploiting them without detection is difficult. We are not aware of any cases where these vulnerabilities were actively exploited.

In addition, this release fixes several lower-severity security issues and includes improvements that further strengthen Safetica’s overall security.

Safetica 11.25.7

⭐ New

  • Enhanced data classification: Safetica can now classify files based on their naming patterns, supporting organizations that use predefined naming conventions for sensitive files.

  • HIPAA classification template: We’ve added a new HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) template to data classifications that will help you easily detect and protect healthcare-related sensitive data. Learn more about data classification templates here.

  • 🪟Windows only: Improved DFS namespace resolution: Safetica now resolves DFS (Distributed File System) namespace paths to their real file servers and shares, so records show accurate physical paths and path-based data classifications and safe/untrusted destinations work reliably.

🛠️ Fixed

  • Bug fixes and performance improvements.
