Navigation in Safetica

The Safetica navigation is structured into five key sections:

  1. DASHBOARDS
  2. BEHAVIOR
  3. PROTECTION
  4. MANAGEMENT
  5. SETTINGS

1. DASHBOARDS

The DASHBOARDS section brings insight into security issues that happen in your environment and helps you understand your security processes. Information obtained in DASHBOARDS may help you facilitate the implementation of protection policies.

  • In Data, you can:

    • Audit data-related operations that happened in your company.

    • See what sensitive files leave your protected environment.

    • Gather crucial info to prevent data loss.

For macOS: a limited set of destination types is available compared to Windows.

  • In Apps, you can:

    • Audit launched apps and the active time users spent in them.

    • See application categories, users working with specific apps, and blocked app activities.

    • Find out if expensive applications are used effectively or if anyone uses illegal or dangerous programs.

  • In Websites, you can:

    • Audit the use of websites and the active time spent on them.

    • Find out which website activities were blocked.

    • Uncover visits to dangerous website categories, such as Malware or Pornography.

For macOS: website audit works only for Safari and Chrome browsers.

2. BEHAVIOR

In the BEHAVIOR section, you see results from the Safetica UEBA add-on:

    • Perform user audit and deepen your overview of dangerous and undesirable user activities to identify hidden security risks and avoid wasting resources.

    • Find out to what extent company resources are used for work-related purposes.

    • Get an overview of what applications are used and what websites are visited by specific users.

    • Gain insight into incoming and outgoing email communication.

For macOS: audit of incoming and outgoing email communication works only for Apple Mail App.

3. PROTECTION

In the PROTECTION section, you can set up remediation actions and prevent possible data loss.
  • In Policies, you can:
    • Protect your data against misuse with the help of protection policies.
    • Set up protection policies for sensitive data, apps, websites, and devices.

For macOS: policies for websites are not yet available, but they are coming soon.

  • In Data classification, you can:
    • Classify your data
    • Define what is considered sensitive in your company (e.g. personal information, credit card numbers, outputs of certain applications, etc.).
    • Use data classifications in policies to detect and secure files that contain the defined sensitive info.

For macOS: All Data classification features are supported on macOS as on Windows, with one exception - the App category element is not supported for macOS yet.

  • In Data destinations, you can:
    • Decide which data destinations (such as devices, websites, or email domains) are part of the safe company environment.
    • Apply different protection policies to destinations based on whether they are safe, untrusted, or unassigned.

4. MANAGEMENT

In the MANAGEMENT section, you can manage your protected environment.

  • In Users, you can:
    • See an overview of your end users and divide them into teams.
